Where it all began
Maxwell & Williams began with a simple belief: beautifully designed homewares should elevate everyday moments. Growing from the foundations of family-owned business H.A.G, established by Harry and Anna Grundmann in 1963, the brand has become a globally loved name in tableware, kitchenware and entertaining.
Today, Maxwell & Williams products are found in homes across Australia and more than 40 countries worldwide, bringing together timeless style, practicality and a love of gathering around the table.

1996
Maxwell & Williams launches
Maxwell & Williams, Australian household name is born. A nod to Max Grundmann's first name and that of his business partner, the late Bill (William) Ryan, the brand landed on store shelves.
1997
Daniel Grundmann
Starting out as a sales representative, Dan Grundmann has grown with the business to become Director of Sales and Head of Product.
1998
White Basics
Maxwell & Williams introduced the White Basics range, which has gone on to become the brand's best selling range.
2000
Michael Grundmann
Michael Grundmann began his career with Maxwell & Williams in the shipping department. Today, he leads the business as Head of Strategy & Operations.
2002
Presence in the Hospitality Sector
Maxwell & Williams began trading with Chef's Hat in 2002, establishing a presence in the hospitality sector. Followed by Hotel Agencies in 2010.
2004
Cashmere
Maxwell & Williams introduced the Cashmere range which has since grown to become one of the brand's best-selling collections.
2005
Royal Botanic Gardens
Maxwell & Williams began its collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens, which has since grown into one of the brand's longest-standing and most cherished partnerships.
2009
Katherine Castle
Maxwell & Williams launched a collaboration with Australian artist Katherine Castle further strengthening the brand's commitment to celebrating local artistic talent.
2018
Pete Cromer
Maxwell & Williams launched a collaboration with acclaimed Australian artist Pete Cromer, a partnership that has since flourished with the release of several successful ranges.
2020
Amazon
Maxwell & Williams began trading with Amazon establishing a significant online presence for the brand.
2025
Love Anna x
Love Anna x joined the Maxwell & Williams family, a deeply personal range inspired by the heritage and legacy of Max's mum, Anna.
